Pregnant this Summer? Beat the heat
Created with Dr Anna Cantlay, GP
Sleepless nights. Sweaty commutes. The summer heat wave is in full force.
Pregnant women are amongst those more likely to become overheated – hormonal changes and increased blood flow to the skin leads to an increase in sweating and feeling warmer.
Top tips to stay cool:
- Taking lukewarm showers and baths
- Wear loose fitting clothes
- Limit your time on your feet & elevate your legs to avoid swollen ankles
- Fans are your friend.
